The girls are here! :)

Friday was fun! I went to the beach during the day with Sonia (the mom) and her friend, Enric! It was beautiful. However, I was not fully prepared for ALL that I was going to see. Here in Space, the beaches are mainly nude. Yes, nude. Women of all ages, shapes, and sizes are, for the most part, topless (And no mother, I did not conform to the culture in that way haha). And then, the men. All of the men either wear Speedos or extremely short and tight undies. It was definitely a sight to see. Haha Beautiful people though. And the sand!! The sand was the softest sand I have ever laid on! Unbelievably soft. I may bottle some up and take it home with me! J That night, the girls came back from their vacation with their dad. When they saw me, they both ran to me and hugged and kissed me. It was pretty much precious. The younger one, Silivia is hysterical. Her personality is just too much!!! She has SO much energy J Yay! Haha She does not stop hugging and kissing me. She took my hand and kissed it a 1,000 times and told me never to wash my hand again. Lol. The older one, Élia, is so sweet. She just stares at me haha. But she loves to learn and to teach! I am currently learning Catalan, French, and Spanish. Woohoo. Élia speaks English the best. The mom speaks pretty well, too. The younger one understands some but can’t speak it very much. I am only to speak English to the girls so that they learn as much as possible. This is my new life! J

The town of Reus is beautiful. There are so many streets filled with shops and restaurants. Tons of Tapas bars. The wine here is delicious! J I will definitely bottle up some of that to bring back ;) EVERYONE smokes here. EVERYONE. From young kids, like 16 or 17, to the elderly. Also, we walk everywhere, which I like! I don’t really know my way around much yet. But I will soon. And there are 3 large plazas here. Those are fun to people watch at J

I still cannot believe that I live in Spain!!! CRAZY! So far, my experience is great. A little scary because of the new environment but I feel so comfortable. Whereas in the Dominican, I was always so nervous because I didn’t know how to communicate. Now, I can communicate a little better but it isn’t as intimidating. The people here speak Catalan, which is another whole language that combines French and Spanish. However, it is closer to the French language. Yet, when the people here see a foreigner like me, they speak Spanish (aka Castellano).

Today we are going to a big open market in the street! Every Sunday there is a giant market in one of the plazas. The girls want a new outfit for their first day of school tomorrow! J

Adios!

Looooooooves!

Also, I am 9hours ahead of California time… FYI.
